I have traveled to Cartagena a number of times and have always been amazed by its marvelous beaches, beautiful colonial architecture, historic and cultural attractions and nightlife activities. Cartagena is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities of the world and best preserved ancient cities in America. It has been declared a patrimony of humanity. Cartagena has tropical climate, with high temperatures of 88 °F (32 °C) and an average low of 77 °F (25 °C) year around.

The most important area in Cartagena is Bocagrande, which is a modern tourist sector, with wide beaches, hotels, restaurants, and discos. However, the best beaches in the area are found on the islands of Rosario, Barú, and San Bernardo. These islands are close to Cartagena and offer white fine sand, crystal clear waters and delightful underwater gardens.
