Santa Marta, the pearl of the Colombian Caribbean.

Santa Marta

Santa Marta was founded in 1525 by Roger de Bastidas and is ideally located for visits to the Santa Marta mountain range and wonderful natural parks - Tayrona and Sierra Nevada national park, plus the famed lost city of the Taironas.

UNESCO declared the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
park a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site in  1979.

Santa Marta is a  beautiful place full of natural charm which offers beaches of very white medium-grained sand, clean, calm blue-green sea and fashionable beach resorts.

Santa Marta has year-round tropical climate; it is hot during the day, but the evening sea breezes are cool and make sunsets and nightlife particularly appealing.
